Advocacy and Community Engagement

At the core of MaSheeka’s mission is the implementation of C.A.L.M. (Calm, Assess, Listen, Modify) principles and S.A.F.E. (Smile, Ask, Follow, Explain) strategies. These frameworks serve as essential training and educational tools aimed at providing effective support for individuals with disabilities.

  • C.A.L.M. Principles guide individuals to approach situations with a calming demeanor, assess circumstances quickly, actively listen, and modify their communication styles for clarity. These steps create a safe environment, creating trust, and promote understanding.

  • S.A.F.E. Strategies emphasize the importance of smiling to ease tension, asking open-ended questions for better understanding, following the individual's pace to reduce stress, and clearly explaining actions to prevent confusion.

By equipping first responders, corporations, and community members with these valuable tools, MaSheeka is cultivating a culture of empathy and support. Her efforts ensure that everyone feels seen, respected, and understood in every interaction, paving the way for a more inclusive society for all.
